CADAC members include the following provincial, territorial, and municipal arts funders: the British Columbia Arts Council, the City of Vancouver, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Edmonton Arts Council, the Saskatchewan Arts Board, the City of Saskatoon, the Manitoba Arts Council, the Ontario Arts Council, the Toronto Arts Council, the City of Toronto’s Cultural Division, the City of Greater Sudbury, the City of Kingston Arts Fund, the Calgary Arts Development Authority the New Brunswick Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture, the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council and the Canada Council for the Arts.

CADAC statistical data covers not only receptive participation by the public (such as performance attendance and the number of performances attended) but also their active participation (including volunteering and involvement in community arts projects).

CADAC methodology

  • For confidentiality purposes, comparison reports are only available when data can be drawn from five or more organizations. This ensures that the aggregate data cannot be identified for specific organizations.
  • All reported data is extracted every two hours from a live database. Information is presented as it is provided by the different organizations and may not have been validated. Depending on the years selected, information displayed might include historical financial and statistical data or financial and statistical projections.
  • CADAC financial data reflects the financial statements submitted by arts organizations and have consequently not been adjusted for inflation. For their part, the statistical data have not been validated and correspond to what appears in the organizations’ reports, which may possibly include double counting.
  • Information presented in these reports includes all the organizations reporting to CADAC, including some organizations that might not yet be successful in receiving funding from the multiple funders.
  • For interpretation of the CADAC lines, please read the definitions sections of the CADAC financial and statistical forms available at: www.cadac.ca
